We got to Karijini at night so it was dark when we set up. We got there at night because it was a long drive from Eighty mile beach to Karijini, it was about 5hours. We hd to go to Port Hedland for a new tyre on the way. When we were at Eighty Mile we drive over some coral and got a hole in our tyre.
The first day at Karijini we stayed at Dales campground. There we went to Dales gorge, it had two water falls that we swim at. The first pool was surrounded by big brown blobs of algae so on the way in so it was very slippery. At the algae pool me and Dad went to explore the water fall. It was skinny and long, I thought it was pretty. The second pool we just jumped in and swam to the water fall. There was a little ledge at the back of the water fall.

The next day we drove to the eco retreat at the west side of Karijini. We had a very small camp site. We went to Joffrey Gorge. There was heaps of green water because the levels were low and the waterfall had stopped running. We saw two Pilbara monitors on the rocks. One of them Dad nearly touched because it was playing dead. There was a pool at one end of the gorge but Isaac and I couldn’t climb safely in so we didn’t swim. The next gorge was Hancock. At Hancock gorge there were lots of long ladders to climb down. It was tricky for mum and dad because they were carrying the noodles. The walk in was really hard because we had to walk along the rock wall and try not to fall in the water. On the way back I slipped and fell in the water so Dad threw me a noodle. The swimming hole at the end was really cold so i didn’t enjoy it as much. I slipped off the rock when trying to jump in and fell in the water and bruised my bum. It was called Kermit Pool. There was a part called the Spider walk where you had to walk like a starfish between the rocks.

On our last day we went to Kalamina Gorge. The walk was flat and easy. We swam at the last waterhole because it was the most gorgeous one. We were the only ones there. The rocks were bright orange brown colour and there were little caves in the side. Then we did a long drive to Hamersley Gorge. I vomited once on the way along the really bumpy road. At Hamersley gorge there were four pools. The first one we swam in was big and refreshing. We swam down the gorge with our noodles and there were rock walls either side of us. After that we went to the spa pool at the very top. We had to climb steep rocks and hold on tightly. When we reached the top there was a little secret pool. It had a little waterfall and it was nice and warm. It reminded me of Surprise falls but colder.

I thought Karijini was beautiful because we saw lots of waterfalls and dingoes. I was disappointed how many flies there were.
