We have arrived in Western Australia. Our first stop was staying at Lake Argyle. We visited the homestead and learnt about the history of the lake and the people who used to live there a long time ago. The homestead was relocated because the original spot is now at the bottom of the lake. The kitchen and toilet were separated but they didn’t move them in time so they are at the bottom.

After we visited the homestead we went to the infinity pool at the caravan park. An infinity pool is where the water in the pool tips over the edge so it looks like it keeps going like a waterfall. In the pool it was shallow then got deeper. I couldn’t touch the bottom so I had to swim and tread water. Sitting in the pool we could see views of the lake and the mountains. It was very pretty.

We went on a lunch cruise of Lake Argyle. There were not many people so we could pick any seat we wanted. We stopped the boat and fed some fish with bits of bread. There were heaps of fish. Some archer fish squirted water from their mouth and dived at the bread. The next stop we saw some rock wallabies and the tour guide fed them some grass pellets to get them to come to the edge near the boat. The man said there was normally only three wallabies but there were actually four. We had a bit more of a cruise and then stopped to have a swim in the warm fresh deep water. Me and Isaac jumped off the edge of the boat lots of times. It was fun. After our swim we had lunch on the boat. It was so delicious. I had barra, quinoa salad and cheese and biscuits. Then we headed back to the boat ramp and caught the bus back to the caravan park.

After the cruise we watched the footy grand final even though it wasn’t our team. We barracked for the lions that day but sadly the magpies won by 4 points.

Then we went fishing down a trail called Jessies trail. It was only 500m each way but it was steep. I didn’t catch anything but Isaac caught a catfish. A catfish is good to eat but you need to be careful of their spikes. Isaac through it back.
