The problem

Dad’s birthday started with hugs, kisses and presents. Dad got a home made card and heaps of chocolates. He had a big breakfast with eggs, bacon and breakfast-sausage on toast.

We got on the road then we stopped at the Zebra Stone Gallery where we bought Zebra Stone necklaces for me and Isaac. I wanted Dad to get one but he said he didn’t want one.

We went for lunch at a place called Lazy Lizard in Pine Creek. The pubs food was filling especially mummy’s pizza. Isaac and I had chicken nuggets and chips with sauce. Daddy had a parma with chips and salad.

We got into Katherine and the car started to make a clicking noise. So when we got to the farm stay we realised that it was Saturday so all the mechanics were closed, so we had to wait till Monday. After we’d waited we booked in for a mechanic. After a day or two we got the information, we had to go up to Darwin again. We booked in for a mechanic in Darwin called mark so Daddy trusted him.  We hired a car to tow our camp trailer up to Darwin while mum drove our limping Ranger by herself. She said it was the first time she’d been alone on our trip.  The mechanic told us the problem was we needed a new engine. So we got a secondhand engine from Adelaide. We have to spent two and half weeks more in Darwin. When Dad returned the car, we also hired a little caroller it fills like a go-cart.
