We were in the pool when someone told us they were going to the Vietnamese Lantern Festival. So Mum and Dad said why don’t we go. When we got back from the pool we had a shower and got in to our long pants for the mozzies.
When we got there we made paper Lanterns, made out of paper, sticky tape and ribbon.We watched a lion dance which was a bit scary when I thought they were coming over to us but they went to other kids. We found a spot on the grass to watch some Vietnamese songs and playing instruments. We ordered our food at a food van that was really busy so we got our food late. Once it got dark we went to the lagoon and set three floating lanterns out onto the water. We had to make a wish when we let it go.
The lantern festival was amazing. The Vietnamese spring rolls were delicious and very hot. It was pretty to see all the lanterns.
