Katherine

When we got in to Katherine we went to the shop. We shopped for bit and then we saw Gerry and Lincoln in the drinks aisle. Dad saw Gerry first and then Gerry, Mum and Dad got in to a big conversation. Me, Lincoln and Isaac caught up. they have been travelling the western half of Australia the opposite way to us. After we got in and the told us our number Isaac, Lincoln and Me jumped on the side of the combers car. It was super fun. 

We visited Edith Falls and went for a walk. We swam in a very cold pool under a waterfall. There was a top pool and bottom pool to swim. At the bottom pool we saw fish but I didn’t swim in that one. Later that night we went back to Edith Falls and did spotlighting. Spotlighting is when you go out in the dark with your torches looking for animals. It scared me at first because there were lots of cane toads. I felt a bit scared because when other animals eat cane toads they get sick and die. We found heaps of animals like fish, frogs, children’s python and wolf spiders. We also heard some dingoes howling

At Cutta Cutta Caves we learnt how to remember stacitites and stalacmites. Stalictites hold on tight and stalacmites might get up to the stalictites. We also learnt that people used to do target practice at the stalictites in war time. The cave was limestone and it was a warm cave. When the cave fills with water it comes from the thermal springs. What I found really interesting about the cave was the straws hanging from the roof. 

Lincoln, Isaac and me went fishing with dad in croc water. We didn’t catch any crocodiles though. We all caught black brim. We also played pirates and made a boat out of the camp chairs and dress ups.
