The start of my journey

On the 3rd of July we started our journey. I was so sad because I was leaving my family and friends. On the drive I listened to lots of audio books. On the way we saw a silo painted with a dog and a person on it. We stayed at Kaneira Hotel in Culgoa at the back of a pub. I had chicken nuggets for dinner and we learnt to play pool.

The next day we woke up to the sound of roosters squawking and rain. On the road I listened to more audiobooks. The first stop was at a silo with an Aboriginal girl on a swing. I thought that it was unique with its colours. Then we went to Lake Tyrell. Lake Tyrell is normally a pink lake but today it was all muddy because of the rain. It was formed when the water rose to the land and then retreated back to the ocean and left behind salt lakes. I wasn’t feeling well at the bakery where I ate three quarters of a sausage roll with sauce. In the car I had a nap. We went to see the biggest tractor in the world called Big Lizzie. Then we crossed over the border into South Australia to get to Berri. At Berri we are staying at Mallee Fowl Restaurant. The ground is red sand and there are peacocks, chickens, emus, goats and bats.
